User position and access levels

Note: This article applies to users with Clio Draft Pro accounts. Users with Pro X or Pro Unified accounts should refer to their relevant article about how to manage roles in Clio Draft.

Administrators in Clio Draft can set permissions and adjust the access of users.

 

User position

Each user can be added as an Attorney or Non-attorney. The position does not affect user access in Clio Draft, but can help your firm understand the Clio Draft users.

 

Adjust access levels

  1. From Clio Draft, click Team (bottom left). You can also reach this page by clicking your profile icon (top right) Account > Subscription.
  2. For the user you would like to set permissions for, click the vertical ellipsis.
  3. Use the checkbox(es) to choose what level of access to provide.
    • Providing Admin access automatically grants Can share access too.

Admin access

  • Access to every client and project created within the organization.
  • Ability to create, edit, and delete clients and/or projects.
  • Ability to share clients with lower access users.
  • Access to subscription settings, including the ability to add and/or remove seats, change billing information, and change subscription type.
  • Access to team settings including the ability to set user permissions, invite users, and/or revoke access to users

 

Can share access

  • Access to clients and projects they create and clients shared with them by others.
  • Ability to share clients with lower access users.
  • Cannot delete clients or projects.
  • Cannot access the organization's subscription or team settings.

 

Regular (no access) users

  • Access to clients and projects they create and clients shared with them by others.
  • Cannot share or delete clients and/or projects.
  • Cannot delete clients or projects.
  • Cannot access the organization's subscription or team settings.
